In Remembrance and Honor of Great Grandmaster Ernesto Amador Presas

On behalf of ourselves, our family and our extended family of Arnis and Mano-Mano instructors and student all over Germany and abroad, we would like to express our heartfelt condolences to Great Grandmaster Ernesto A. Presas’ family, friends and followers on his passing away last November 1, 2010.
On behalf of the Modern Arnis - Mano Mano Organisation Germany (MAMD) as well, we would like to express sincere condolences to the Presas family, to all Kombatan practitioners and all IPMAF members.
Ernesto and we became friends while we had the privilege of studying Modern Arnis - Presas Style in Manila during summer 1985, under his personal care and guidance. Thereafter, GM Presas was a trusted Philippine Martial Arts brother, and guest instructor during many Kombatan and IPMAF serminars held in Germany and abroad. We will miss you!
During the 1950ies, Grandmaster Ernesto Amador Presas, together with his brother Remy Presas, developed further the traditional classical styles of Filipino Martial Arts into an effective system of self defense, called “Modern Arnis”, and successfully carried it around the world. Ultimately, he combined his two systems of Modern Arnis and Mano Mano into the most effective and comprehensive martial arts system known today as “Kombatan”.
Ernesto A. Presas was a well-known and respected member of the martial arts community throughout the world who’s knowledge, experience and skill - together with his personal brand of humor - were integral part of recognition and growth of the Filipino Martial Arts in Europe and world wide. He was an extraordinary man with great beliefs and knowledge of his art. His legacy will live on through his many disciples, he will truly be missed.
Our most heartfelt condolences & deepest sympathies are with the Presas family. May the legacy of the Kombatan continue to flourish & strengthen in his remembrance.
Ernesto Amador Presas will be much missed, but he will continue to live in our hearts, and most importantly in the way he honor his art.
